Antique cylindrical box C. 1900

Cylindrical lidded box, possibly a seal paste box, brush pot, or snuff container.

Decoration: Delicately incised and inked linework showing Chinese immortals, pine trees, clouds, and scholars — traditional Daoist themes.

Mark: The base bears a Qianlong 乾隆年制 (Qianlong Nian Zhi) mark, translating to “Made during the Qianlong reign” (1736–1795).

Despite the reign mark, this does not date to the actual 18th century. Late 19th century – early 20th century (circa 1880–1920).

The even patina, fine but not deeply carved figures, and commercial export feel are consistent with Canton (Guangzhou) export pieces from that period.
